It’s THE best time of the year! Christmas is just around the corner, and you can almost feel its magical touch in your fingertips. As some of you know a huge part of my royalties goes to the charity, but why give most of your incomes away? Eight years ago my younger daughter Anna had a brain fever, which developed severe epilepsy and changed her life for good (you can read more about it here). She will never heal as her epilepsy is a relapsing one but she is alive, and we’re so thankful for that, but she wouldn’t have survived without the amazing crew of Turku University Hospital. We spent six months in the hospital and had a lot of time to listen and observe. If we learnt one thing, it was that even the smallest amount can help, and we decided that if we ever had anything to give back we would do so.
So, once a year I contact the hospital and ask what they need and they give me their wish list. This time I’m donating toys, games, DVD’s, activity packages, books etc. to the Children’s Epilepsy units 417 and 422 in Turku University Hospital.
Would I do this without Anna being sick? Probably yes. As I have a soft spot for children and animals. Especially the ones those are a bit ‘broken’. I don’t call them children with special needs but exquisitely special ones.
BUT I could not do this alone. Not a chance! So big thank you belongs to you, my readers and fellow writers who have spread the word. Every time someone downloads or buys my book they help me to help so HUGE THANK YOU to you all!
