Imagine fairies, mermaids, dragons, wicked witches and demons…Teen Read Week is here!!!

BlackDiamond_paino-1I believe that the ability to read is a priceless gift. It takes your imagination to a totally new level, feeds it and allows you to develop your own stories as well as create sequels to the ones you’ve read. I’ve grown up in a world created by C. S. Lewis,  Edgar Rice Burroughs, Enid Blyton, James M. Barrie, Rudolf Koivu, Tove Jansson, Astrid Lingren and many, many other talented authors and even as an adult I still take pleasure of reading their stories over and over again. Sure, the times have changed and the TV is full of great teen series but the numbers are, and will always be, on books. The tricky part is to pick the best ones from the sea of millions of stories.

The following week, 13th-19th of October is Teen Read Week so now is your chance to turn the TV off and grab a book for yourself or for your teen. Be bold! Surprise yourself and try a book by an author you’ve never read before. Grab couple for the Christmas or send a book to your godchild, nephew or some of your neighbor’s kids. Donate a book! Be creative!

I will be posting about teen books the whole week, and as this really is close to my heart my teen/YA read Black Diamond will be FREE between 14th-16th of October! Click the image and it will take you straight on Amazon 🙂

Below I’ve collected some of my own favorites. If you have one, please, share it with the others by leaving a comment! And….read, read, read!

About jenniferloiske

Jennifer Loiske lives in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast. She is a pre-school teacher by profession but she stayed at home when her youngest daughter suffered brain fever, which developed severe epilepsy in 2004. She is a workaholic Teen/Young Adult author, who loves dark fantasy, teen movies, chips and candies and warm sunny days. She’s also very keen on charity work and a big part of her royalties goes to the charity; mainly to help families with epileptic children but also to the epilepsy units in the hospitals. As a huge fan of dark novels Jennifer's bookshelf is full of books from L.J. Smith, Alyson Noel, Stephanie Meyer, Chloe Neill, Michelle Rowen, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Amanda Hocking and Lauren Kate. She’s also a huge fan of music from Evanescence, Linkin Park, Within Temptation, OneRepublic and Disturbed. But her hunger for music is endless and depend on what mood she’s in or what kind of book she’s working on. She can be pretty much an omnivore when it comes to music.
