…What are you gonna read this weekend?
I read C.J. Daugherty’s Night School (part 1) couple of years ago and absolutely fell in love with it. It was something new, very gripping and by far one of the best YA books I had read for awhile. So when the second part, Legacy, was published you can imagine my excitement! I read it in one go even though at parts it was a bit slow-paced and way different than the ah-so-brilliant first part. And now when I bought the third part, Fracture, I let it be quite a long time before getting myself to read it. Why? Simply because I didn’t want to lose that magical feeling I’d gotten after reading the first part (and yeah, it had faded already a bit after the second part), but, couple of days ago, fingers trembling, cold sweat on my neck I finally had the courage to open the book.
And I’m thrilled beyond that I did! If Night School was good, the Fracture is even better. I lost myself to the story from the first sentence. Every chapter ends with a hook that simply does not allow the reader to put the book down. The pace will take your breath away and I promise you, even if you thought the author lost her grip with part 2, this series is so worth reading! So grab your reader, iPad, phone, laptop or whatever you are using to read ebooks (or if you don’t have one RUN to the nearest bookshop) and get these books now (and no, I don’t get anything by saying this!). Curl up on a couch and enjoy!
I won’t reveal anything from the plot but I know everyone has a favorite character in a story and mine is Sylvain. He is so…deep sigh…dark hair, blue eyes…French, mysterious… well, let’s just say that I root for him and if I’d have to name three people who would be a perfect choices to play him in a film I would name these:
Asher Book
Jeff Buckley (I know he’s dead but this is my game so I can name anyone I want 🙂 )
Gaspard Ulliel (and yes, he would definitely be my number one choice!)
After reading the books (or if you have already read them) share your choice of a person who could play the roles on the comments!
Happy reading!
