“Welcome to Morganville!”

“Welcome to Morganville. You’ll never want to leave. And even if you do…well, you can’t. Sorry about that.” (Rachel Caine)

MI’d like to say I’m spending this weekend with Myrnin, but I can’t since I already finished Daylighters, the final part of Morganville Vampires Series, yes, the final part, and now I’m a bit lost what to read next.

It’s been quite a ride, giving that there are fifteen parts of this series, and I would not be honest if I didn’t admit there were times I almost gave up, but just almost, as I’ve grown to love the citizens of Morganville, both human and vampires. And how could I not…

First of all, there is Claire. A 16 year old student, with brain sharper than a razor. She’s bullied by the town ‘princess’ Monica Morrel, and yet she manages to catch the bad boy Shane, get a weird spider-like vampire Myrnin to crush on her and gains the trust of the founder of Morganville, a vampire called Amelie.

Then there’s Eve…reckless goth girl with a mouth worse than sailor’s. Brave, rash fighter who loves Michael…who happens to be a ghost…Yeah, that can happen, at least if you live in Morganville.

And then we’re back to Myrnin again…an ancient alchemist with bunny-slippers with fangs. He’s weird with a capital W, half-crazy, holds the brain of love of his life in a can, has a spider called Bob as a pet and is of course quite drool worthy. He’s my favorite of them all…don’t know what it says about me though 🙂 .

I have given 4-5 stars to these books and I highly recommend that if you haven’t read The Morganville Vampires Series yet, you’ll start now…hey, you have weeks before the summer so what’s better than start a reading marathon with this awesome series!

Oh, and here are some great quotes from the series:

“Mornings are pure evil from the pits of hell, which is why I don’t do them anymore.” (Eve, Bite Club)

“He lives in a hole in the ground, dresses funny, and occasionally eats his assistants,” Eve said. “Define crazy.” (Eve about Myrnin, Ghost Town)

“You are so lucky I’m too tired to murder you right now.” (Bite Club)

“I’m still alive. And I’m still fabulous.” (Last Breath)

“Shane, honey, in Morganville, friends are the only things that keep you alive.” (The Dead Girl’s Dance)

“Unfortunately, mortal life is very fragile, and very short. Yours could be shorter than usual.” (Glass Houses)

About jenniferloiske

Jennifer Loiske lives in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast. She is a pre-school teacher by profession but she stayed at home when her youngest daughter suffered brain fever, which developed severe epilepsy in 2004. She is a workaholic Teen/Young Adult author, who loves dark fantasy, teen movies, chips and candies and warm sunny days. She’s also very keen on charity work and a big part of her royalties goes to the charity; mainly to help families with epileptic children but also to the epilepsy units in the hospitals. As a huge fan of dark novels Jennifer's bookshelf is full of books from L.J. Smith, Alyson Noel, Stephanie Meyer, Chloe Neill, Michelle Rowen, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Amanda Hocking and Lauren Kate. She’s also a huge fan of music from Evanescence, Linkin Park, Within Temptation, OneRepublic and Disturbed. But her hunger for music is endless and depend on what mood she’s in or what kind of book she’s working on. She can be pretty much an omnivore when it comes to music.
