Lovers of Paranormal Romance prepare to be awed! I wanted to read Divergent by Veronica Roth before it hits the movie theaters…and wow! It took me four hours and thirty-eight minutes to finish the book…yes, it was that good.
Roth has created a world where everything is judged by the characters of a human nature. Selflessness, honesty, bravery, peacefulness and the thirst for knowledge. The story is placed in dystopian version of Chicago, the city being divided into five fractions:
Abnegation for the selfless ones
Amity for the peaceful
Candor for the honest
Dauntless for the brave
Erudite for the knowledge seekers
But what happens if you don’t fit in your own fraction? If you feel as if you never really belonged?
Sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior has lived as an Abnegation for whole her life but when the day comes where her character is being tested something weird happens. Something that is so dangerous that it is forbidden to even talk about it and yet something so exciting, that given the opportunity it opens a new, tempting choices to Beatrice. She decides to change fraction. From Abnegation to Dauntless, changing not only her old gray baggy clothes to the tight black ones, but also abandoning her family as she decides to step in to unknown world where you can get killed in a blink.
Beatrice is small, way smaller than the others, but she is smart, and a fast learner, which makes her a dangerous contestant. And as in Dauntless everything is being ranked she soon realizes she’s made a bunch of dangerous enemies. But where is hate is always also love…
Beatrice “Tris” meets Four, an instructor with deep blue eyes and dark brown hair. Four is a bad-ass, fearless and surrounded by mysteries. So when he falls he falls hard, and he surely falls for Tris…
Okay, not gonna say more about the plot (even if I’m soooo tempted!) but seriously if you’re looking for your next best read ever, look no more. Divergent was one of the best books I’ve ever read, which I do not say lightly. Brilliant! A mixture of The Hunger Games and The Matrix, something so hooking that it will take your breath away.
So, guess what I’m gonna do next? I’ll download the second part, Insurgent, and let myself to drown into Four’s deep, dark blue eyes…Bye….
