I’m a huge, huge fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s paranormal romance books. Her Lux series is one of the best PNR series I’ve read so after reading the final part, Opposition, I was kind of disappointed. I didn’t want to say goodbye to my alien hotties, and truth to be told, there were still a lot of questions in the series that I was waiting for to be answered…So, when I found Obsession, a stand alone follow up of the Lux series, I was thrilled!
Here is my short, but oh so ‘bowing before talent’ and ‘still a bit blushing’ review of Obsession:
Warning! Obsession is for adult readers unlike the Lux series!
Holy hotness! If I’d thought Jennifer L. Armentrout’s touch was starting to slip after Opposition, I was so wrong! She is back and better than ever.
Hunter and his brothers are like the definition of a bad boy. They’re sooooo hot. Hunter, with his hard, dangerous cover and yet just enough kindness in his core. Sin…oh, my…he’s like the ultimate badass. I so want an alien of my own if they’re anything like these men!
Obsession was everything I hoped for and more. It was like meeting an old friend after a long time, understanding some things that happened in the Lux series better and in a way kind of a closure for the Lux series. Hopefully (Jennifer L. Armentrout, I’m begging on my knees here!) there will be a follow up…maybe a book dedicated to Sin…just saying…Lore, the third brother was much nicer than the two others but I bet he has his dark side, too.
This book will rock the socks out of your feet!
Description of Obsession (Amazon):
He’s arrogant, domineering, and… To. Die. For.
Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.
Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something…unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.
Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life…or is it Hunter?
