What readers say about Redemption:

5***** Loved it!

I’ve been a fan of Jennifer Loiske since I picked up a copy of Club Number Five (Immortal Blood Series) which introduced me to Samantha and her crazy life. As I read Redemption (Blood Hunters Series), I felt like I’ve watched her grow up so much since that first book.

Curiosity started Sams crazy journey, and Redemption still showcases her youth as she struggles to hold onto who she is, even as she watches loved ones suffer.

Here is my interview with Jennifer Loiske

My latest news presented by Fiona!

authorsinterviews

Hello and welcome to my blog, AuthorInterviews. My name is FionaMcvie.

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we? Tell us your name. What is your age?

Hi, Fiona! My name is Jennifer Loiske and I’m…oh-oh…do I have to…well, let’s say I’m between being young and old.

Fiona: Where are you from?

I’m from Naantali, which is a small town on the southwest coast in Finland.

Fiona: A little about your self (ie,  your education, family life, etc.).

I’m a preschool teacher by day and a paranormal fiction author by night. And no, even if my toddlers can be little monsters sometimes, I don’t get my inspiration from my work. I write mostly about vampires, witches, demons, werewolves, fallen angels and stuff like that. All though I do have a work in progress that’s mostly non-fiction. Yes, I said mostly. So don’t judge me when it comes out. When I’m…

New release from Marie Godley!

thumbnail_Different WingsMarie Godley has just released her latest book, DIFFERENT WINGS. Here’s a scene before the book starts:

Mum’s just called me. I’m not ready – I mean, I’m dressed and everything, but I’m not ready to go to the church. I’m not sure I can actually go through with this. I loved Anna, she was the one that comforted me, before she left.

Knowing I should get up, I try, I really do, but my feet won’t obey me. See, not ready. I don’t think Mum is either. She’s been crying and withdrawn since she heard the news, well she would be, she’d known her all her life. That’s why I have to go. To support her. Do my duty. I don’t have a choice. I rarely do.

“Lina!”

That’s the warning shout. I can’t put it off any longer – she’ll just come and get me and then they’ll be words. And guilt will pile on top of the grief.

“Coming.”

My promise for the year 2017

I’ve learned from my previous promises not to promise too much, so this year I’m gonna promise only one thing. Concentrate on the things that matter and not to stress over things I can do nothing about. What’s your promise?

Welcome Christmas!

16115581_mFor me Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. I would probably start it in June if possible 🙂 This year I’ve found myself baking again, making Christmas cards, taking time to create something special for the ones I love and of course for my readers…and yes, it has taken some time away from my writing but it has so been worth it. I find myself smiling for the small things, laughing without a reason and the feeling inside of me reminds me of the one I had when I was a child. Pure happiness.

In my newsletter I asked from my readers what they think is the best thing about Christmas. Here are some of the answers:

“The best thing about Christmas is surprising someone with a present they didn’t expect.”

“I love Christmas! The first snow fall, the music and fun loving movies. Spending time with my family. We dont do the normal christmas’ most do. We dont do presents. We do however cook dinner together, while listening to christmas music and singing, very badly, off key. lol We buy a ton of snacks, pick out a movie theme (last year was superheros!) and spend the entire day together. We play games and just have fun. I love it! Christmas for us is very special, filled with lots of love and laughter. I adore it!”

“The one part of Christmas that I love is sitting back and just watching my three children with my daughters children passing out gifts, opening gifts, and seeing that magic! The magic Christmas brings. It’s my favorite part of the holiday.”

“The best thing about Christmas is watching my niece and nephews get excited about the holidays!☘️ we drive around and look at Christmas lights on all the houses and listen to Christmas music. Watching them open their gifts… it’s the kids that make the holidays!”

“The best thing about Christmas is love. If you are religious, love is the reason that God sent his son. But for everyone, love is what we should all be feeling and extending to others at Christmas. It is all about loving our family and friends and the world around us.”

“I love seeing my kids excitement about all things Christmas….decorating the house, putting up the tree, looking for the elf….it’s a fun time for all.”

“For me, the best thing about Christmas is my son. He’s 8 now and still has that innocent joy and belief in Christmas. He has always been amazing to watch on Christmas day. He is so excited about everything, from getting up and seeing the presents under the tree, to cinnamon rolls for breakfast, to getting to open gifts. He gets so into each gift he opens, whether it’s just a little thing from his stocking to the every larger present under the tree, that he stops, checks it out and has to try it or play with it before he opens the next thing. Many time we have to remind him that he has other gifts to open!”

3793d9ae-07c2-4ee7-b7e4-c970555462adI got hundreds of replies, hundreds of great stories, some short, some long, about Christmas. And each and every one of them were fabulous. If you participated in my Christmas Game, Math Goodies will draw a bunch of names who will get gift cards and some on Friday. If you didn’t, no worries, you can participate next time. But only if you are on my newsletter list! You can subscribe here!

Cheers,

More about the authors and their books:

Jennifer Loiske Author picJennifer Loiske lives in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast. She is a Teen/YA paranormal fiction author, with four exciting series available worldwide. McLean Twins series for teen readers, Immortal Blood series for mature young adult readers, Blood Hunters series, also for mature young adults, which is a follow up for Immortal Blood series and is created by the readers’ requests, and The Shape Shifter series for anyone age 16 and up.

Jennifer’s stories are full of creatures of the night. Vampires, demons, witches, shape shifters…but even if they are mostly fiction you can find a hint of a truth in every story. Jennifer loves to research so every time she gets an idea of a new story she does a crazy Google session looking for places, old myths, names, folklores, magical items…anything that could spice up her story and make it more real for the readers. Jennifer is also part of Authors For Charity, an international author alliance, and team member in Epilepsy FI magazine. She is a pre-school teacher by profession.

About ‘Black Diamond’:

Part One of McLean Twins Series

After her mom’s sudden death, twelve-year-old Shannon McLean has to move from the US to the English countryside to live with her mysterious father, Connor McLean, whom she hasn’t seen since she was a baby. Soon she discovers that he doesn’t want her around and her moving into his huge manor, Greyman Hill, is nothing more to him than a compulsory deal. But if he does not exactly give her a warm welcome, his servant Robert is most likely an incarnation of evil. He runs the house with an iron touch and makes everyone who works there his little puppets.

Weird things start to happen and the whole place scares the crap out of Shannon. Her dad can control her just by looking at her. The walls are full of secret passages and apparently she has the talent to awaken the ghosts in them. Every day is worse than the day before and she wants badly to run away but discovers it’s impossible. If she wants to stay alive she has to do exactly as her dad says or else she will not only jeopardize her own life but also the lives of the people around her.

While Shannon struggles to find the magic inside her, Connor is slowly turning into a demon. One carelessly spoken word from her could either save or destroy them both. In the end she has to decide whether to save herself and her loved ones, or lose her dad to the darkness and evil that threaten to eat his soul.

greta-burroughsGreta Burroughs loves to read. No matter where she is, there is always a book close at hand. Her love of reading began at an early age and blossomed over time to include many different genres, her favorite now being fantasy.

As a preschool and elementary school teacher, Greta tried to instill the joy of reading in the children she worked with. Books were an important part of her classroom and story time was the highlight of the day.

It has been a while since Greta was in a classroom but she had lots of experience in reading to children of various ages and remembers what they enjoyed listening to. She tries to incorporate that knowledge into her work as an author and believes it makes her a better writer of children’s and young adult books.

She now resides in SC with her husband, Robert and three dogs. Greta has six books published at the present time; three children’s books in the Patchwork Dog and Calico Cat series, two MG/YA fantasy entitled “Gerald and the Wee People” and “House on Bo-Kay Lane”, and a nonfiction account of her experiences with an autoimmune blood disorder called ITP – “Heartaches and Miracles”.

About ‘House on Bo-Kay Lane’:

“House on Bo-Kay Lane” continues the adventure begun in book one in this series, “Gerald and the Wee People”.

Gerald and Vernon believe their time with the wee people came to an end after they returned to their home world but begin to wonder when strange things started to happen at an abandoned house in their neighborhood. Ghostly images of familiar faces from the wee people village are seen in the windows, echoes of voices from the past haunt the boys’ dreams and an undeniable curiosity draws Gerald and Vernon to investigate the mysterious haunted house. What they find takes them back to the world of the wee people and a new adventure begins.

In House on Bo-Kay Lane, a mirror is found in a forgotten room in the far-seers’ training center. Sheela, a far-seer master and Alyson, an apprentice firestarter are unwillingly drawn into the depths of the mirror and wind up in the abandoned house on Bo-Kay Lane. Sheela uses her telepathic skills to enlist the aid of Gerald, Vernon and Gerald’s father, Andrew to help find the way back to the world of the wee people.
That problem resolved, they try to unravel the secrets of the mirror and find that it is a portal between their two worlds, as well as to a time in the future and possibly even to a parallel universe. They also discover that someone is trapped inside the mirror and the decision has to be made as to whether or not to help the trapped soul escape the confines of the portal.

Meanwhile, the wee people discover the origins of their world. That knowledge is not well accepted and leads to discord between them and the outworlders, Gerald, Andrew and Vernon. An uneasy truce paves the way to an understanding and acceptance of the unwelcome facts and eventually to a solution of how to deal with the man in the mirror.

9i9lhbv5Joey Paul is an indie author, exploring the young adult crime genre. She has released eight books in total so far, with a ninth due out in the summer of 2016. Her current works include the “Dying Thoughts” series, and she is planning to start writing the last book. She usually writes crime and mystery fiction, with a paranormal twist, but she has been known to dabble in contemporary romance and general fiction. She is writing her fifteenth and sixteenth books at the moment, having recently finished her last two.

Joey is disabled and a recent graduate from The Open University with a BA (Hons) in Health & Social Care. When not reading medical textbooks, she enjoys reading crime novels, medical dramas and young adult novels. When she’s out and about, she likes looking for Tupperware in the woods with GPS satellites, otherwise known as geocaching. And when she’s not doing THAT, she’s sleeping! She’s 34 and has been writing since she was retired from her job on medical grounds at the age of 19. She plans to write for as long as she has ideas or until someone tells her to stop!

About ‘Waiting on You’:

Angelina and Zack couldn’t be anymore different; one lives in apparent riches and the other in poverty.

They meet online and a friendship blooms, but then things in Angelina’s life take a turn for the worst and she finds herself turning to the only person she thinks loves her – Zack.

With everything against them, can Zack and Angelina cross the distance to change her life before it’s too late? Or will Zack have to watch from afar as Angelina continues to suffer?

Cheers,

Jen x
